Zhukova Bratva Duet by Nicole Fox

Tarnished Tyrnat by Nicole Fox is book one in the Zhukova Bratva Duet. This duet is a mafia suspense romance. Belle is an accountant who is taking care of her younger sister and has to take a business trip to New York to work for a high profile client. On the place over she gets bumped to first class and when there is some turbulence she gets super nervous and Nikolai steps in and helps her with her anxiety. After their bathroom fling on the airplane, Belle doesn't think she will see the man ever again but soon finds out he's the high profile client that she is going to New York to work for. I was into this first book although at times I felt like at times the story could have been trimmed down but it for sure kept my interest and made me download book 2 immediately and start reading. I would give book 1 4 stars.

★★★★☆

Tarnished Queen is book 2 of the Zhukova Bratva duet by Nicole Fox and it picks right up where book 1 left off. I didn't love this book as much as I enjoyed book 1. I felt like it was repetitive at times and lacked the drama I would have liked to keep my interest. I wish the story would have been a little more trimmed down. It was still suspenseful and I enjoyed that but I would have liked a little bit more drama and suspense because I started to skim through at part. Book 2 I would give 3 stars.

Favorite Excerpt:

Tarnished Tyrant:

I gesture to the dress. "I've done most of the work by putting you in this. Every man in this line wants to fuck you."

She looks around nervously. "Ew."

"So now, all you have to do is act like you've seduced a man even once in your life, and we're in."

"I seduced you, didn't I?"

“How could I forget?” I drawl sarcastically. “The way you nearly projectile vomited in that plane stole my breath away."

Tarnished Queen:

“Okay, so you want to keep me alive—today. But what about when that changes? Am I just supposed to trust that my safety will stay your priority?”

His gray eyes stroke over my face. I feel it like a physical touch. “I told you even before Iceland that I would take care of you and Elise. I’ve done that,” he says. “I vow to you right now that I’ll continue to do that so long as I’m alive. No one can stop me. Not even you.”
