Wild Card by Kelsie Rae

I came across this book and thought the blurb sounded really good. As I started to read it, I felt like it was pretty good but the more I read the more I realized there wasn't a lot of romance in the book, a lot of suspense though. I wouldn't even classify this book as dark romance. Don't get me wrong, there's a little bit of the good stuff but for me I would have liked there to of been more. I would have liked the book to focus more on Ace and Kingston and less on the other stuff. There was just a lot going on, multiple view points and a lot of mystery and suspense. Overall it was a pretty good book, just wish the writer spent more time on the romance and the connection between Ace and Kingston. I would give this book 3 stars.

Favorite Excerpt:

“Touch her bare flesh again, and you lose a hand. Understand, Charles?”

“Yes, sir,” the pit boss, who’s apparently named Charles, mumbles. “It won’t happen again.”

With a cold, hard nod, Kingston turns to me and clearly dismisses Charles with the sight of his back before gently running the tips of his fingers along the hem of my shirt and across my belly button.

“This,”—my stomach quivers under his touch—“is a new look.”

“You said you like skin.”

“Did I say I liked it when you showed it around others?” he counters, referring to the pit boss from seconds ago.
