Vicious by L.J. Shen

Updated: Nov 4, 2022

Let me just begin by saying that I read the All Saints High books before I decided to give Vicious a read. I loved that series and Pretty Reckless is probably where my love for L.J. Shen started. I kept putting off reading the Sinners of Saint books and now that I finally read Vicious, I have no idea why I waited so long. I was kind of in a book hangover where every book I read just was not catching my attention and then in walked Vicious and I was hooked. I could not put the book down, which is exactly what I look for in a book. Vicious is troubled and doesn't know how to handle his emotions. Emilia is sweet and innocent but she doesn't just lay down and take Vic's abuse either. I loved how to stood up to him time and time again. Vicious has a thing for Emilia since the first moment they meet but instead of going after her, he decides to be a "hothole" and push her away. He ends up pushing her right into one of his close friends arms which just set him off even more. The book does jump back and forth from their Senior year of high school, to ten years later. I enjoyed being able to see parts from their past. I am always looking for an angsty book with a hard to love Alpha and a sweet love that brings them right down to their knees. I can't wait to read the rest of the Sinners of Saint series. I give this book a 5 star review and if you haven't read the All Saint High books, check those out as well. Favorite Excerpt: "The cherry blossom represents the fragility and magnificence of life. It's a reminder of how beautiful life is, almost overwhelmingly so, but it is also heartbreakingly short.

As are relationships.

Be wise. Let your heart lead the way. And when you find someone who's worth it -- never let them go."
