Untying The Knot by Meghan Quinn

Untying The Knot by Meghan Quinn is a second chance contemporary romance. Myla wants a divorce from her husband, Ryot, who she has been married to for years. Everything in their marriage had been perfect, until he got hurt and couldn't play professional baseball anymore. After his injury he started a new business and they picked up and moved from Chicago to California. Ever since the move, Myla has felt neglected and like she wasn't important to Ryot like she used to be. Not only did he move her away from everything she was used to but he broke promises to her. Ryot has no clue why his wife is unhappy and wants a divorce but Myla is the love of his life and he will do anything to keep her as his wife. This book goes back and forth between when Myla and Ryot first meet and the present time. I enjoyed reading Myla and Ryot's story. Myla did frustrate me a little at times but I loved Ryot! He was so in love with Myla and he worked so hard both when they first met and when he realized he messed up and needed to fix his marriage. I would give this book 4 stars!

Favorite Excerpts:

“Hold the fuck on for a second,” I say, trying to wrap my head around all of this. “You want a divorce?”

“Yes. Everything is done. You just need your lawyer to look it over and then sign it.” Everything is done? When did she start?

“The fuck I will,” I say, moving closer to her. “I’m not about to sign divorce papers without knowing where all this is coming from. I love you, Myla—”

“And yes, was the night a total disaster? It was. But I brought you back to my apartment for a reason because I know you see it as a safe place. And that’s where I want you to be, safe.” He takes a step forward and then another, and then another until he’s inches from my face. He grips my jaw, his thumb extending to tilt my chin up. “Everything I said, I fucking meant. You have captured me, Myla, in all the best ways. And despite what your mom might think, I feel like I’m the one who is out of your league. I feel like at any moment, you could walk away and find someone better, someone more suited for you. I know the disadvantage I have in this relationship. I know that your heart, your mind, and your wit far exceed what I have to offer.”

I shake my head, but he holds me still.

“Yes, Myla. It’s fucking true, and don’t tell me otherwise, do you hear me? You are an amazing woman, and I am so damn lucky that you’re mine.”
