There Are No Saints by Sophie Lark

There Are No Saints is part one in a duet. It's a suspenseful thriller romance book. Typically I don't like to read a cliffhanger book unless all books in the series are out but luckily the next book is out in a few days. Cole is a successful artist who is also a psychopath serial killer. Although he's only known for being an artist, he's been able to keep his killings secret so far. Mara is a struggling artist who is just trying to catch a break in the art world. Mara ends up getting kidnapped and left for dead by Cole's rival in the art and serial killing world. Cole happens upon Mara lying on the ground slowly bleeding out and he decides to just leave her for dead. But Mara is a fighter and finds a way to survive. Cole finds out that Mara survived and becomes obsessed with her. Mara recognizes Cole but is unsure what role he really played in her kidnapping and attempted murder but the things that Cole is offering her she can't pass up. I'm definitely looking forward to book 2 in this duet. This book for sure gave me "You" and Ted Bundy vibes. I would give this book 4 stars.

Favorite Excerpt:

"What were you thinking?" I cry when I finally catch my breath. "You could have killed that guy!"

"I hope I did," Cole says.

I turn to stare at him, gasping in the thin, damp air.

"You can'y mean that."

"Absolutely I do. He disrespected you. Put his hands on you. I'd kill him for much less."
