The Devil You Know by Veronica Eden

The Devil You Know by Veronica Eden is a brother's best friend and fake relationship romance. I absolutely loved this book. It's a feel good coming of age romance. Tatum just graduated high school and spent the last few years making sure she studied and did what she needed to get into college but she realized her personal life was super lacking. She decided before college she needed to lose the one thing she was still holding onto, her virginity. She also knew the perfect guy to lose it to, her brother's best friend Cooper. At first Cooper was 100% against the idea but he came around and agreed to tutor the one girl he always wanted but could never have. Things took a turn when Tatum's brother found them kissing and they came up with the idea of fake dating to try and make her brother less mad at them, since Cooper had a reputation of being a player. Cooper wanted to do the whole fake dating thing to try and show Tatum what a great boyfriend he could be and to get her to fall in love with him. This book gave me teen movie vibes, like Netflix needs to make this into a movie! It was so good, I really loved it!! A perfect end of summer read. I would give this 5 stars!!!!

Favorite Excerpt:

“I never wanted to lose my best friend, either. A girl’s never come between us. But I’d do it all again, even if it always ended the same.” My mouth pulls into a strained smile. “The chance to fall in love with her over and over would be worth it.”

He snorts. “Sounds like a terrible groundhog’s day if you’re just going to lose every time.”

A rough laugh leaves me and I swig my drink. It doesn’t wash away the permanent ache of want that’s taken up residence in my chest. “I’m serious. Loving her is like—like taking on the biggest wave you’ve ever seen and sticking it. When she laughs, when she needs me—fuck, man. All of it. She’s my dream wave.”
