Real Players Never Lose by Micalea Smeltzer

Updated: Nov 4, 2022

Let me just begin by saying, I love Teddy! He was such a sweet and lovable character. Vanessa and Teddy are both college seniors. Vanessa, a scholarship student, just found out she lost her scholarship and her last semester needs to be paid. Teddy needs a fake girlfriend to prove to his dad he's no longer that party guy/player that he used to be. Teddy decides to make Vanessa an offer she can't refuse, pretend to be his girlfriend and he will pay her tuition. It sounded like a great idea, until Teddy went and caught feelings for his curvy fake girlfriend. Vanessa who has been hurt before tries really hard to resist Teddy, but come on, how could anyone resist him. He is a charmer and relentless. I love how he just doesn't give up. It was a sweet romance and a good book! I would give this 4 stars and suggest you check it out!

Favorite Excerpt:

A kiss has always been a means to an end for me, to get to the fun stuff -- you know, sex. But knowing that's not where it is headed makes it all the sweeter and more intense.

This is a kiss that matters, and I feel a pull in my stomach, one that's telling I'm fucked when it comes to this girl.

I force myself to pull away, knowing I'll get carried away if I don't stop this. Her surprised blue eyes stare deep into mine as she raises trembling fingers to her kiss swollen lips.

Yeah, baby, my gaze tells her, I'm the last man you're ever going to kiss.
