Promises We Meant To Keep by Monica Murphy is Sylvie Lancaster's story. Sylvie is a troubled girl who has gone through a lot in her life. In Things We Wanted To Say we had a small glimpse into the kind of person that Sylvie was and we didn't have the greatest first impression of her but in this book we discover so much more about Sylvie and the troubled life she has. Sylvie and Spencer have been in love with each since they met as young teens. Sylvie had trouble showing her love and always pushes Spencer away. The book flashes back and fourth from the past to he present. I really enjoyed this story. Sylvie's story is heartbreaking but she never gives up and it was so good to watch her finally get the love with Spencer that she truly deserved. I would give this book 4 stars.

“You are the only person in this entire world who makes me feel safe, Spence. Only you.”
He leans in, nuzzling my cheek, his mouth at my ear. “I would destroy this entire world if it meant keeping you safe.”
I dive my hand beneath his boxer briefs, encountering velvety, hot skin. “You mean it?”
“With my whole heart.” He nips at my ear, making me shiver. “Which you own, by the way.”
