Play Fake by Maggie Rawdon

Play Fake by Maggie Rawdon is a college sports romance. This is the first book by this author, so it's also my first time reading anything by her. I am always a little nervous reading anything by a new author but Play Fake sounded so good when I read the description that I knew I had to give it a try ... and I am so glad that I did. Mackenzie is in college and was recently cheated on by her boyfriend who she quickly broke up with. Waylon is a college football player who has kind of had a thing for Mackenzie since the first time he met her but after a little misunderstanding, they kind of became frenemies. Mackenzie and Waylon have a few mutual friends so they are always getting thrown together and seeing each other. Mackenzie's friends decide she needs a fake boyfriend when she's suppose to be at the same place as her ex and Waylon eagerly volunteers to be her fake boyfriend. Mackenzie starts to see Waylon in a different way and starts to realize that maybe he isn't the big playboy that she thought he was. Waylon is such a sweetheart and I loved him. This book was so good, especially given it's the author's first book! I will definitely be checking out more of her books .... kind of looking forward to books about some of the side characters in Play Fake! I would give this book 5 stars!

“And then I’d tell you I can’t stop thinking about you. Haven’t been able to since the moment we met. You’re so fucking gorgeous it hurts, and when you walk in a room, it’s like no one else exists. I know guys like me don’t end up with women like you because we don’t deserve it, but if you’d give me the chance, I would try real fucking hard to prove it was worth it.” As he says the words, he cants his body toward me and his free hand works its way up my neck, his fingers sliding through my hair sending little fireworks down my spine.
