Kill Switch by Penelope Douglas is an enemies to lovers dark suspense romance. Kill Switch is the third book in the Devils Night series and it's recommended to read the first two books before starting Kill Switch. This book is Damon and Winter's story. After reading Corrupt, I really didn't think that Damon would ever be able to redeem himself or that I would ever like him but towards the end of Hideaway, I started to realize that there is way more to Damon's story than we realized. Kill Switch did not disappoint me at all. I have to admit that Damon and Winter might be my favorite couple of the 4 Horsemen. Damon is dark and damaged, Winter is the complete opposite when they first meet. She's a young, innocent little ballerina until they day she meets Damon and her whole life is changed. Fast Forward years later and they meet again and Damon just cannot stay away from Winter, finding any way he can to be in her life. This book is just like the first two books where it time hops. Kill Switch was so good that I didn't want it to end and now I'm not sure that Will's story will be able to measure up to Damon's. This book is a 5 star for me. “What are you going to do?” I choked out. “What do you want?”
I tried to pull away—tried to stand up—but my brain was slipping sideways, and I couldn’t get control of my limbs.
“I just wanted to hold you,” he said. “One last time.”
Hold? What? His voice was fading, like it was in stereo down a long tunnel.
“Just wanted to hold you.” His voice loomed somewhere over my head as my eyes started to close. “And say I’m really fucking sor—”
“What?” I asked, giving out and falling into him. “I can’t understand you.”
“Don’t let me go,” he whispered in my ear. “Don’t let go.”
“I’m gonna…” My mouth was so dry. “I’m gonna send you to jail.”
His lips rested against my cheek, and I thought I felt his body shake with a silent sob.
But as I fell into sleep and oblivion, his words were sharp and clear in my ear. “Then you better hope I never get out.”
