Hideaway by Penelope Douglas

Hideaway by Penelope Douglas is book 2 of the Devil's Night series. It does pick up where Corrupt left off and time jumps from present and past. This book is a dark suspense romance between Kai and Banks. They first meet 6 years in the past in a confessional booth where they each have an attraction to each other. But Banks runs off without Kai finding out her identity. Banks keeps a lot of secrets about who she is from Kai but eventually he starts to find out who she is, some secrets taking 6 years for him to unravel. I don't want to give too much away with this review, you need to read it and find out all the mystery and secrets this book has. I really enjoyed this book. I loved Corrupt and I feel the same way about Hideaway. I honestly cannot wait to read more books from the Devil's Night series. I would suggest reading Corrupt before reading Hideaway. This book is a 5 star read for me!

“So, do you still like me?” she asked, playing.

I laugh a little. I more than like you.

“I think I’ll keep you,” I told her instead. “And no one keeps me from you. Got it?”

I kissed her chin, trailing kisses along her jaw. “Not your father, not your brother, not your men.” I squeezed her ass again, pulling her in deep. “I want your smart-ass mouth.” I kissed her lips. “I want every memory you’re going to make from now on.” I kissed her forehead. “And I want this.” I gripped her, yanking her into me as I bit her neck. “In the car, on this table at breakfast tomorrow, everywhere…”

Her body grew tense, and she wrapped her arms around me, bouncing faster and faster. “So, you do like me then?”

I smiled at her joke. Little shit.

“Yeah,” I told her. “I like you a lot.”

A lot.
