From Lukov With Love by Mariana Zapata

So ... I have seen this book before but whenever I read the blurb I always seemed to pass on downloading it. I'm not sure why, although it might have something to do with me not being sure how I felt about male figure skaters but none the less I put my little judgement aside and decided to give this book a try after someone suggested I read it. I loved The Wall of Winnipeg and Me but for some reason I haven't read another book by Mariana Zapata. (Guilty of having a few on my TBR for months now) I honestly need to read more Mariana Zapata books .... I loved this book, even though I wasn't sure I would love the story. Jasmine is so grumpy that I loved her. Ivan is cocky and conceited but also protective and caring. I always have a weak spot for a protective hero. Jasmine is at a crossroads with her figure skating career, after her partner ditched her a few months back and not having any prospects for a new partner .... in comes Ivan and his coach asking her to be his partner for a year. Jasmine who has always hated Ivan wasn't sure if she should take the chance but it was either take a shot with Ivan or give up on her dreams. I really enjoyed this book! 5 stars!

Favorite Excerpt:

“You mean so much to me that that’s why whatever happens doesn’t really matter to me. Not like it used to. Not like it ever will again,” he finished, pressing his forehead against mine, his eyes intense and heartbreaking. “You’re not ever going to be anyone else’s partner. Not while I’m alive, Meatball. I will drag your stubborn, beautiful ass kicking and screaming back to me because nobody else will ever be good enough for you.”

I blinked. I blinked so fast I knew I was about two point five seconds away from losing my shit.

And then Ivan ended me. He ended every worry I’d ever had about there being someone after him. He did it right there with the tip of his nose touching my own and his forehead against mine too.

“Because I’m okay with you having ten other people be your favorite. But you’re always going to be my favorite person,” he finished. “Always. No matter what.”
