Fallen Foe by L.J. Shen is an enemies to lovers billionaire romance. This is book two in the Cruel Castaways series but can be read as a stand alone. Arsène has been obsessed with his step sister since they were kids, his goal in life was to conquer her and make her his. Winnie is a good southern girl from Tennessee. She moved to New York to be a broadway actress and that's when she met her husband. When Arsène's fiancée and Winnie's husband are both killed in a tragic plane crash, they both are thrown together to try and discover secrets that were kept from them. This book does flip from Arsène's past and the present. I always love L.J. Shen's books and this one was another book that I could not put down and loved. Right after I finished it, I wanted to start it all over again. It was so good and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series! 5 Stars

“Scottish. Single malt. More or less your age.”
“And how old do you think I am?”
“Twenty.”
“Eight,” I correct. Twenty-eight.
“You’re eight? Well, may I suggest a visit to the dermatologist? You certainly look past puberty, and now I feel all kinds of guilty for entertaining improper thoughts about you in Italy.”

“Talk to accounting.” He leans against a metal banister, looking bored and put off. “I’ve no direct involvement with the theater, and now that I’m hell bent on selling it, you’re lucky I still pay the electricity bill.”
“They’re gonna jerk us around.” I shake my head. “No poster, no deal.”
His mocking chuckle reverberates inside me, dark and demeaning. “Why, Winnifred, this sounds a lot like extortion. Have you sprouted another inch of that spine I’ve been recommending you grow?”
How is this man still alive? How did no one kill him?

“I’m not going to regret it,” I whisper, finally.
“Fuck.” He closes his eyes, tipping his head back. Two things are obvious to me—he is attracted to me, but he doesn’t want to be. “Yes, you are.”
“No, I won’t,” I say, louder now. “Trust me.”
“Good.” He erases the space between us within seconds, next to me all of a sudden. “Because I never regretted that first kiss. Not for a nanosecond, Winnifred.”
