Devil Heir by Rachel Leigh is a stepbrother/enemies to lovers romance. Penelope has been bullied by her stepbrother Blaise and his friends for years. After one terrible night, Penelope moves away to live with her Dad only to return two years later after a tragedy. There was a lot of drama and secrets in this book which made me really want to keep reading to find out the truth. I wish there was a little bit more character and relationship building. I felt like there was some areas where things just fell flat for me but I was able to finish this book so it did still keep my interest enough to keep going. I would rate this book 3 stars.

“Why are you so mad?” she asks in a whisper.
“Why am I so mad?” I come back up, with squared shoulders, as I walk into her again. Hands at my sides as my mouth touches her forehead. Enraged, I shout, “Because he forced you to…” I can’t even say it. “Because, no one is allowed to touch you but me.” I can’t even think straight. The thought of what he did makes me crazy and knowing that it actually happened makes me want to cut somebody.
I take a step back, looking into her eyes. Getting lost in them as I’m lost in my thoughts. “He’s dead to me, Penny. I can promise you that.”
I have to get away from her before she thinks my anger is directed toward her. I’ve got no idea where I’m going, but I have to go somewhere.
