Darling Venom by Parker S. Huntington

Wow .... This book was so good. I don't think I have the words that can quite describe how amazing this book was, but I'm going to try. Darling Venom sucked me in right from the beginning. I laughed, I smiled and I cried throughout this book, it was just everything. When I first downloaded the book and started to open it on my Kindle, I took a glance at all the chapters and I thought to myself, how many pages is this book? So I of course looked, 712 pages! I read this book in a little more than a day, it was just one of those books I could not put down. I loved all the characters in this book, from Charlotte and her sister to all the Marchetti men. Parker really nailed this book, it was so beautifully written. This book was a definite slow burn and hit so many tropes between enemies to lovers, to age-gap, to forbidden love, it really just had a little bit of everything you could look for. You really need to read this book, this might be the best book I have read this year, just so good! 5 star book!!!!

Favorite Excerpt:

“Moving on to the breast exam.” His hand drifted up to the tie protecting my chest from the A/C and mortification when Tate inevitably spotted the alert state of my nipples. “I’m going to untie the top of your gown now. Is that okay?”

"Sure.”

He reached forward, tugged on the string, and… nothing.

We realized at the same time that my strategy had backfired, eyes colliding in the silence. Problem was, I’d knotted the ties so tight, the neckline choked my throat. The string would take a solid few minutes to untangle.

I bit my lip when my ankle hit a stirrup too hard. “What’s the protocol in situations like this?”

“There is no protocol.” To his credit, he didn’t laugh at me, which only made the situation tense. “This is a first for Bernard and Marchetti.”

I cracked a smile. “I could skip the breast exam and take the gown as a souvenir?”

He said nothing.

“I’d compensate you for it, of course,” I rushed out.

Oh my God, Charlotte.

Make like Ariel and shut up.
