Boyfriend Material by Ilsa Madden-Mills

Boyfriend Material is a second chance hockey romance. It's the second book in the Hawthorne University series but can be read as a stand alone. I read the first book, Boyfriend Bargain a few years ago and I loved it. This book is between Julia and Eric. They first met in high school when Julia was a scholarship student and Eric was the school hockey god. Things didn't end well. After hooking up, Eric ghosted Julia and broke her heart a little. Fast forward a few years later, they are both at the same college. Eric playing hockey and Julia a struggling college student/stripper. They keep running into each other and Eric keeps saving Julia that eventually they start to become friends to more than friends. I really enjoyed reading Julia and Eric's story. They both have some ups and downs but find a way to make things work out! I would rate this book with 4 stars!

Favorite Excerpt:

He comes down the steps and stops in front of me. “But the last few weeks, being your friend. That was real. With you, I don’t have to act. I can just be me. Because you like me for who I am. Not a single person in my life knows who I am, Julia. But I swear . . .” He rakes his hands through his hair. “You’re the closest. And I don’t—” A ragged sound comes from his throat. “I don’t know what I would do without you. You’re my best friend. I need you. You’re the most important . . .”
