Bad Cruz by L.J. Shen

This book .... I don't even know how to put into words how much I loved this book but I am going to try! Cruz and Tennessee were so good! I loved them both so much! I may or may not have gotten a little teary eyed in some parts but I mean it was a romantic comedy book and like most romantic comedy movies, I tend to cry, yeah I am one of those girls. Tennessee is a single mom, she got pregnant when she was 16. Cruz is the town golden boy who returned home a Doctor and took over his father's practice. In the beginning Tennessee and Cruz are the typical enemies but when you really get into the book, you find out that isn't really the case. Cruz has had a crush on Tennessee since they were kids. Tennessee also had a crush on Cruz but didn't think she had a chance with him so in high school, when his best friend asked her out, she agreed. Years later, they find themselves thrown into each others lives when Cruz's brother and Tennessee's sister get engaged. My heart broke for Tennessee and how she was treated by the small town she lived in and even by her own family. I loved how Cruz wanted to stand up for her but how he also just wanted her to stand up for herself. This was such a good book that I devoured it in a day! L.J. Shen is one of my favorite authors, I have fallen in love with so many of her books! This one is definitely a 5 star book for me!

"Excuse me, sir, do I know you?" she asked coldly.

She looked at me like I'd had a personality transplant, not sure where my easygoing attitude was coming from. The man glimpsed between us, turning slightly in his barstool to take me in.

"Very funny, Mrs. Weiner." I slid between the two of them, giving him my back as I propped an elbow onto the counter. I didn't mind being rude. No one on this cruise knew me but Tennessee, and her words were worth nothing in Fairhope. "Been lookin' for you all over."

"Are you ... Mr. Weiner?" I heard the man ask behind me.

"The one and only," I confirmed.

"So this is your husband?" This question was directed at her.

"Also yes," I said, at the same time she corrected, "Cousin."

I took a step back so they could see each other's faces. For the first time since I'd gotten on this damn ship, I was having something that resembled, at least afar, fun.

Tennessee's face was as red as a ripe tomato. The old man paled, but upon a second peek of her shapely calves, squared his shoulders, and decided to give it another go.

"You're married to your cousin?" he asked her, slowly as though deciding whether or not that was a dealbreaker.
